Product Description
Satisfy your system's need for speed by adding four ports with data transfer rates up to 133 MB/sec. Working with your existing motherboard, this PCI card enables you to connect up to four additional IDE devices to your system including hard drives, CD-ROMs, and most other Ultra ATA 133/100/66/33 or ATAPI devices.

3 out of 5 stars Not worth the cost of shipping   July 21, 2010

I ordered a new one.

Shipping was $11.00+, so $61.00+ total. Ooouch!

Received on time and undamaged in a USPS packing box. (Inside the mailbox out on the street, not at the door!)

Came with nothing else, no CD or manual, except the packing slip. I was at least expecting a cable or two for the price.

I had already downloaded the driver from Seagate's site or I would not have even considered ordering it. I strongly recommend you do likewise for any adapter you intend on buying.

The driver file was easy to find.

Worked quite well on a Tyan Trinity 400 board. Card was recognized by Windows 2000 SP4 and driver installed fine.

I only tried one of the pair of 320Gb Western Digital drives I have, and it was recognized. I didn't conduct any further testing, such as partitioning, formatting or trying to set up a RAID (I think you can set up a RAID with the card's BIOS).

For the price, a so-so deal. Shipping was way too much for something this small. I recommend getting it elsewhere if you can. The chip set on the card is made by Promise. You might want to consider getting their card instead. Look for a "Promise Ultra133 TX2". I found a couple leads through a web search and Promise has the driver(s) on their site.

5 out of 5 stars Very Stabe in AV Editing, Gaming   May 23, 2003

This card made by Promise is a very heavy duty one, why? I've been using this card for some time now with no trouble. I used this card for Gaming, AV Editing (Pro Editing), Server, etc.

It is very easy to install, the instructions are easy to follow if you are new in installing PCI Cards.

Over all, a good investment for anyone looking stability and speed.

3 out of 5 stars Installing Maxtor PCI Card /w Maxtor 133 HDD   March 7, 2003

I decided to write and tell everyone about this card. You might be wondering why I only gave the card 3 stars. Although the card installed fine with Windows 2000, I had problems installing under Windows XP. I was forced to install Windows XP using my standard ATA controller. Once in XP I found that infact there was a MAX Blast III CD that would have solved my problems in the first place had I been using those new drivers instead of the ones on my MAX Blast II CD.

Summary, The card works as expected with the new drivers! Do not trust the drivers on the CD! Three stars for an above average card, but not perfect.

5 out of 5 stars Replacing ATA-100 w/ ATA-133 HD's.   December 22, 2002

At First I installed the Maxtor 60 G, HD, 7200 rpm, ATA 133 and felt the system was slower, folks said it would replace the ATA 100, with no problems, but it was well worth installing the Ultra PCI - 133 Card, the system came to life, much - much faster

The need for speed is exactly as Described, and great service too.
